Comparison
Verdix vs Smokeball
Document-centric practice management with Microsoft Word automation.
Smokeball is a Word macro + capture tool. Verdix is an AI workflow.
Smokeball shines when you want to template deeply inside Microsoft Word and track time passively. Verdix skips the template dance — Claude drafts the demand letter from the intake + records in minutes. If your firm is Mac-first or doesn't want to live in Word, Verdix is a better fit.

I'm on a Mac — does Smokeball work?
Smokeball is a Windows app. You'd need a Windows machine or run it via Parallels/remote desktop. Verdix is browser-based and works on any OS.
Will Verdix generate court forms?
Not yet. If state-specific court-form automation is critical, keep Smokeball for that. Verdix handles the pre-litigation PI workflow (intake → demand → settlement → liens) where Smokeball needs a lot of template work.
